The mission of Saint James' Episcopal Church is to profess the Good News of Jesus Christ through worship, effective ministry and outreach so that others may know God's redeeming love. 

What's New at Saint James'
Father David Hanselman was recently installed as the Rector of Saint James' Episcopal Church of Watkins Glen and
​Saint John's Episcopal Church of Catherine.
We are blessed to be in ministry together.

Stained Glass Window Rededication
On Sunday December 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., Saint James is holding a rededication of our stained glass windows to celebrate the completion of the final window and the career of Pat Saxe, the creator of our beautiful windows. The public is invited to the rededication and the reception that follows. 

Christmas Eve Service
Saint James' Christmas Eve service will be held at 9:00 p.m. on the 24th.

Tower and Building Restoration Project

The challenge to restore the Tower and Building of Saint James' Church is currently underway.  More information about this important project and a way to support it, can be found here.

The Historic Saint James' Episcopal Church was founded in 1830 and is located in Watkins Glen, NY.  We are an inviting Christian congregation that welcomes everyone to join us in worship.

is our sister parish with whom we share ministries and some worship services.

Handicap Accessibility
The Church has a ramp that can be installed to allow accessibility to the Church. It is not a permanent fixture. The Parish Hall has a ramp to its front door.  The Parish Hall has an accessible rest room.
